Les armées de Sauron ont attaqué Minas Tirith, la capitale de Gondor. Jamais ce royaume autrefois puissant n'a eu autant besoin de son roi. Mais Aragorn trouvera-t-il en lui la volonté d'accomplir sa destinée ?
